Yacolt Library Express, housed in a converted town hall and former jail building, brings library service to the small community of Yacolt in a distinctive, self-service format. Patrons can browse books, DVDs, and music, use print, copy, scan, and fax services, and shop at the Friends Bookstore, with limited staffed hours filled out by self-service access the rest of the week.
Despite its small footprint, Yacolt Library Express is a genuine community hub, hosting programs like Kids Create and welcoming neighbors to Friends of Yacolt Library Express gatherings. Our fundraising helps keep this unique small-town library — and its historic building — open and thriving for the Yacolt community.

Friends of Yacolt Library Express’s Bigfoot Books is self-service and open the same hours as the library.

Support the Friends Bookstore: Help sort, price, and sell donated books at our Friends bookstore — a favorite way for volunteers to spend a few hours while directly supporting the library.
Support Events: Lend a hand at book sales, fundraisers, and community events throughout the year, from setup to sales to cleanup.
Share Your Talent and Expertise: Whether it’s marketing, bookkeeping, event planning, or simply a great idea, we welcome members who want to put their skills to work for the library.

Friends of Yacolt Library Express raises money that goes directly back into Yacolt Library Express, funding the extras that the library district’s budget can’t always cover. Recent and ongoing support includes:
Friends of Yacolt Library Express operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the umbrella of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation (Federal Tax ID 91-1456753), which handles our federal and state nonprofit filing and financial reporting on our behalf. This lets our all-volunteer board focus on serving Yacolt Library Express rather than nonprofit paperwork. Donations to Friends of Yacolt Library Express are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
